We Choose Bondage

The funny thing about free will is that we feel like we have it. We get handed these “seemingly” freedom constructs and ideas, and yet we still tend to lean hard on “norms.”

“What does that mean,” I bet you’re thinking…

We are so free to do what we please, and yet we still choose bondage. And, if you’re thinking, “No I don’t…” I have my own life, my own business, my own family, and my own beliefs; you’re about to be seen.

Every time we seek a strategy… every time we say we’ll start Monday… and every time we seek outwardly for examples of a life we are trying to build, we subject ourselves to bondage. And look, I say this to you as I also say it to myself. I’m not immune to this shit, even though I dealing deep in seeing people’s bullshit as part of my daily work. I am just as subject and impressionable by it. Each time we sit down in frustration and tell ourselves that today is the day I get my shit together, your subconscious program is laughing at you.

You are trying to rewire your brain using the same bullshit tactics/mindset/beliefs/emotions/etc. of yesterday, and let me tell ya sis/bro, that is never going to work. You know why I know that, because I have done it a thousand times, and chances are you have too.

We are all too excited to work our little asses off so we can earn our way to a mediocre life, which catches back up with us by the time we set our faces down on our pillows. Truth. Even good high-quality days… don’t you feel like you’re…

Just on the cusp of a breakthrough…
Just on the cusp of getting your business figured out…
Just on the cusp of your marriage working out…
Just on the cusp of kids that actually like you…
Just on the cusp of a boss seeing your talents…
Just on the cusp of better health and your best physical life…
Just on the cusp of knowing what you want….

And the crazy part is, we will wake up every damn day and play this same silly game, instead of choosing to be free from it. Instead of being a deliberate creator each day, we have all just become allowers. We allow life, work, and people to come in and steal our attention away from the life we are waking up in each morning. How’s that for a slap in the face. I feel it too.

Do you know how many times I’ve done the same stupid shit when I’ve woken up? Look at the phone. Go to the bathroom. Do skincare and teeth. Go to the kitchen and make coffee. Sit down and answer email. Check social feeds. I mean… this is my morning all the time, and I think nothing of it. So much so that I will feel “off” if things don’t happen in said order. I’ve literally trained my physical body on how to predict my future. Does that hit?

We work hard on making life work. Thinking nothing of it, we subscribe to that bondage each day. So, how do we move away from it?

We make new choices. We stop seeking outward guidance, and we choose ourselves instead. It’s not complicated. It’s not a “strategy.” We have just been lead so far away from this that it sounds a little scary, right? What might you even do with the time you hand yourself back? What might you create? Because you cannot create ANYTHING in periods of stress or bondage. Without hesitation, I can say with complete confidence that I’m a brilliant creator. I have learned how to release my bonds when it’s time to allow the genius to rise. Make no mind, the “ego me” is no genius, far from it. But my “source” self is… and I am always happy to provide a ride to deliver the message.

Hop in, and let’s go fuck some shit up today, go scorched earth, blow up your old life. You know you want to. It’s gonna be messy and awkward, and uncomfortable. But releasing the external world’s grip on you will set your internal world free. If you don’t take some responsibility for handling your shit, no one wants to hear about it babycakes. Plain and simple.
